About Us

ACTIS is an official spin off organisation of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), created in 2009 to continue and expand the successful Youth Encounter on Sustainability (YES) program.

The mission of ACTIS is to provide a platform for young leaders to develop personally and professionally and acquire the skills and knowledge they need to address the challenges of sustainable development. ACTIS does this through delivering YES, its flagship program, and by leveraging the potential of the global alumni network of over 1200 academics and young professionals from 110 different countries and all academic disciplines.

ACTIS offers various basic YES courses around the world, as well as special programs developed for YES alumni on particular thematic focus areas. Previous topics have included water and sustainable development, food security and social enterprise. In addition, ACTIS offers programs in education for sustainable development tailored for specific target groups, such as high school students, schoolteachers and university faculty and selected groups from the public and private sector.
